I took the Delta Highway exit that was so familiar to me by now. I had been working at the same advertising agency for 23 years in Eugene. I had always lived in Cheshire myself and that exact same 21 minute drive 5 days a week for 23 years does start to wear on you.
I turned right onto Valley River Drive and passed the Burrito Boy and Starbucks. To be fair, for most of this time I’d loved the job and the co-workers. I had come up with and worked on some amazing campaigns that got national recognition. I was now 48 years old and the person who had worked there the longest. A promotion didn’t seem to be on the table and I couldn’t blame my boss Ernesto in any way. I wasn’t as inspired as I had been when I started this job in 1997. The advertising landscape had changed so much and I realized I couldn’t always keep up.
I waited at the red light before I crossed and entered the office park. I had seen all of these young, fresh employees get hired over the years, who knew how to play into the social media world in a way that really helped the agency shift its direction and become more relevant. Instead of a pay-off line, a hashtag was needed. I was still needing time to adjust. My ideas were rarely chosen.
I passed the other office buildings before taking a left. I now drove right in front of our office, which looked exactly the same as a few others in this park. Thoughts about switching careers had entered my mind, but I had never actually looked at other jobs. Because I was comfortable at Gimmick Advertising. Maybe I wasn’t getting that promotion because my passion as well as my eagerness to climb up the ladder had been slightly extinguished.
I found a parking spot. I sighed and psyched myself up to start another workweek. I took my briefcase from the seat next to me and got out of the car. I turned and right before I slammed the car door shut, I saw someone on a bicycle. He had black hair and facial hair with Latin features. The man was wearing a nice green shirt and grey slacks. His sleeves were pushed back to reveal forearm tattoos. He rode his bike right towards the office building. In one swift move he jumped off and parked it. He bent forward to lock his bike, revealing a large, juicy ass in his tight trousers.
I stood still and just admired him. Every part about him. What a man. I had never seen him around before. We shared the office building with several other companies, so it was likely he was newly hired for, or worse, a visitor for another company.
Realizing I was frozen in place, just from seeing a sexy man, I needed to start moving. I shut the car door and walked to the office building’s entrance, getting closer to his body as it was bent over his bike. I could see the material of his slacks was working hard to stay together, stretched across his round glutes. He slung his messenger bag that he had placed on the ground back over his shoulder and walked into the building. I quickly followed. He held the door open for me.
“Thanks”, I said.
“No problem”, he replied, giving me a short smile.
My office is on the first floor, and I fully expected the man to continue towards the elevator, but he didn’t. Instead, he stood in the lobby and looked at the signage. It must have been his first time here. That was my in. I took one last glance at his ass and spoke up.
“Hey, where do you need to be?”, I asked.
He turned back at me and smiled.
“Gimmick. Gimmick Advertising.”
I could feel my eyes widen.
“Really? I work there!”
I shook his hand.
“Jim.”
I said my name to introduce myself.
“Mauricio”, he said.
His name was so gorgeous, I knew I was going to repeat it inside of my head over and over for the rest of the day.
“Follow me”, I said as I showed him where to be, “do you have a meeting with someone?”
“No, it’s my first day actually!”
“Really?”, I said once again, “I didn’t know I was getting a new co-worker! That’s amazing! Welcome!”
I walked in and Ed the receptionist looked up.
“Good morning”, he said to the both of us and then immediately addressed the man next to me.
“You must be Mauricio.”
I stood next to Mauricio as Ed introduced himself and welcomed our new co-worker. I told Mauricio I would certainly see him again shortly.
“Thanks for the help!”, he said as I walked to my desk.
I put down my briefcase, got myself a coffee and sat down in my chair. I immediately felt much more cheerful than I had when I got into my car this morning. I couldn’t suppress a smile as I started my computer.

It wasn’t much later that morning when Mauricio was introduced as a new co-worker to the entire office. He was going to be working on this big assignment we had been offered, which was going to be a yearlong campaign. Because Ada would be on pregnancy leave for a portion of that time, Ernesto had hired Mauricio to help out.
“I am Mauricio Ruiz”, he said softly, looking a bit nervous to address the entire office at once. “I’m looking forward to work on the project and getting to know you all.”
Already the combination of the bike, the visible forearm tattoos and the nervousness made him interesting to me. Not what I had expected.
That entire day I spotted Mauricio walking around the office and stole quick looks at his butt. I could see into the coffee pantry from my desk and you could pretty much say that whenever Mauricio was not sitting at his desk but in my line of vision, I was not doing any work at all. I tried to be subtle even when I practically dislocated my neck to see inside the entire pantry while Mauricio was in there.
As the day progressed and I saw Mauricio more and more, the realization crept in that he must have been in his mid-30s, and therefore 10 to 15 years younger than me. I sure hoped I wasn’t being creepy sexualizing and maybe slightly obsessing over this new co-worker of mine. With the hair at my temples now grey, it was unlikely Mauricio would be into me remotely as much as I’m into him. Though I did keep in shape, my body lean and muscular, unlike his shorter, bulky frame. I’d had younger guys showing an interest in me before. In Mauricio’s case I didn’t even know if he was into men. Regardless, just watching him walk around would be OK, I decided.
This would continue throughout the rest of the week. His beautiful body, specifically his round bubble butt, was showcased in a variety of tight outfits. I started to wonder if he got his slacks custom made, the way they always managed to contain his large ass so well.
I didn’t work together with Mauricio one on one so far. He had his assigned project, a project I wasn’t involved in. Team meetings obviously consisted of the entire team, so it was nice to sit in a conference room with him on a weekly basis. But that was pretty much it.

On Friday, I saw Mauricio walking towards the coffee pantry. Our office had casual Fridays and I had found he looked just as good in jeans. I hadn’t had much interaction with him since Monday. I looked at my own cup. It was empty. I mustered up my courage, took my coffee cup and stood up. I walked into the pantry.
“Hey”, I said before I even entered.
Mauricio just closed the fridge. I checked out his ass again. He turned around.
“Hey”, he said, smiling.
It was possible he just caught me looking.
“So how’s your first week?”
“Good! Everyone’s been so nice.”
“Yeah, it’s a fun group”, I agreed.
“And I’m getting responsibilities right off the bat, which is nice as well.”
“Good, great…”
Mauricio stood there waiting for his coffee to finish. I stood across from him, still holding my coffee cup. I realized I felt nervous being in this small space with him. At 48, I never was nervous around guys anymore. I felt silly. Yet I wanted to keep conversation going.
“So… coffee right?”, I said.
“Yep, can’t work without it”, Mauricio said, still smiling.
“Yeah… very important… Brown nectar of the Gods…”
“What?”
Mauricio looked at me, chuckling.
“I-I don’t know, I heard that somewhere.”
I think I made it more awkward than if I’d stayed silent.
And then I dropped my coffee cup.
“Oh, shit!”
It shattered in tens of pieces on the floor.
“Oh no!”
I realized I must have looked like a fool.
“Don’t worry about it”, Mauricio said.
He opened an empty container that was on the counter and crouched down to take the pieces off the floor.
“I’m so clumsy”, I chuckled as I also crouched down.
I took the pieces and put them in the container, realizing I was now closer to Mauricio than before. Maybe this was a good move. We both reached for the same piece, causing our hands to touch. I looked at him.
“Oh, sorry”, Mauricio said, leaving the piece alone and not looking back at me.
In no time the floor was clean again.
“Thanks”, I said.
“No problem”, he said, with the exact same smile he gave me when he opened the door for me on Monday.
Mauricio’s coffee was done by now. He emptied the container in the trash, put it back where he found it and took his cup from the machine.
“Have a good rest of your day”, he said as he walked away.
I watched his asscheeks bounce up and down as he walked. I got a boner. Suddenly I could feel my breathing starting to slow down again as I took a new cup from the cabinet and started the coffee machine again.
In the week that followed I tried to discover Mauricio’s sexual orientation, but without asking him directly. Questions like “what did you do last weekend?” or “Any plans tonight?” would end up with him mentioning friends. That probably meant he was single, and when I asked about where he lived, he shared that he lives by himself. But no luck finding out what he was into. Also I would walk into the pantry while he was there about every other day at this point, and I was wondering if it was becoming too obvious.

In the team meeting I found out that Mauricio would be presenting the first pitch at a meeting with the big client that gave us this big project to work on. That was quite the responsibility and quite a big deal that it went to the new guy. The people who were also on that project must have such faith in him. Or it was likely that they thought his natural charm would win them over. I kinda wished I could be part of that meeting and watch him present.
The following Tuesday was the big day. I saw Mauricio go into the pantry that morning. I downed the coffee I had left and quickly got up to get a fresh one.
“Hey”, I said.
Mauricio seemed lost in thought for a second as he watched the coffee machine do its thing.
“Oh, hey”, he said once he looked at me.
“Nervous for this afternoon?”
He chuckled.
“Yeah, I always am. Get my first word out and I’m fine. But I can be quite anxious in the hours before, thinking about every possible scenario.”
I smiled.
“Relatable.”
“I mean, I know I’m well prepared, I know we have a good pitch. But my mind is like, ‘Aaahhh what if this or that goes wrong’, you know?”
I laughed.
“Absolutely! Just remember to listen to that rational part of you, the part that knows you got this.”
He smiled back at me and slapped my back.
“Thanks, man. I used to be much worse with this, even passing out before a pitch”, he laughed.
“Oh wow!”
“Yeah! That was a lot. But I’ve gotten better with it over time.”
“Experience helps, doesn’t it? You know you’re going to absolutely nail this.”
He took his coffee and smiled again.
“Thanks again!”, he said as he walked out of the pantry and I watched his ass walk away.
I didn’t see Mauricio for a few hours. I was working on my own stuff and he was probably going over every last thing, because I knew that’s what I would do. Having both the big client to impress and a new employer, is quite some pressure.
At one point I had to go to the bathroom. In my mind I was already thinking about what to cook once I got home when I heard a flush in the stall next to me. It had been so quiet up to that point that I had assumed I had been by myself.
I heard the door unlock and footsteps to the sink. I ignored it as I continued to pee. I heard someone breathing. Almost hyperventilating. I shook my cock to get the final drops out and flushed. I zipped my slacks back up and unlocked the door.
I found Mauricio leaning on the sink. He was breathing heavily.
“Hey, are you OK?”
He shook his head.
“Nervous. Hard to breathe. Light-headed”, he said in between the gasps.
“OK, why don’t we get you to sit down somewhere”, I suggested.
Mauricio let go of the sink and tried to walk out but his legs were wobbly. He barely finished the first step and his entire body collapsed.
I managed to catch Mauricio’s built body in my arms, but the weight and the momentum were enough to drop me on my ass. I heard a large ripping sound.
I found myself sitting on the men’s bathroom’s tiled floor. Mauricio had passed out. His body was completely limp. The back of his head lay against my stomach, my cock was starting to twitch between his shoulder blades. My hands were still under his arms. Catching him at least gave him a softer landing. I saw his legs spread wide on the cold floor. His eyes were closed and I saw his chest rising and falling with each breath, gradually slower than before he fainted.
As much as I wouldn’t have minded to stay like this with Mauricio for a little longer, I knew I had to wake him up. The presentation was in half an hour.
