Jon, Chapter 1

Jon
As I was finishing packing up my things, I regretted my earlier decision. My friends Jerry and Rosa had gotten married and were travelling to Europe for four weeks for their honeymoon. They had asked me if I could housesit, mainly for their cat, Bubba. And at the time, I thought of it as an easy favor to do my friends. They had a nice place, further out in the city. They lived in an area of Baltimore called Joseph Lee, which was a quieter part of town not even that far from where I lived. At the time I thought the four weeks would give me some rest to think and work. As I worked from home as a freelance website designer, I sometimes craved a place with less distractions.

I myself could see the waterfront from my apartment in the area of Canton, and I lived walking distance from all these nice bars, pubs and coffeeshops. I liked to feel that city vibe ever since I moved out of my parents’ place. And at first, it was easy for me to combine that with working hard, whenever I needed a change of surroundings, I would go into a coffeeshop with wifi and work there for a day in the week. But I had done such a good job on a website for an interior design company, it was getting me lots of new clients and referrals. It was great, as more jobs meant more money, but it also meant I needed to focus even more.

And right as I was feeling a little overwhelmed, Jerry called. I had known Jerry for so long, as we were roommates in college. Because my name is Tom, our names had been a source of humor for everyone we met. It was even sometimes assumed we were a couple. Jerry was actually the first person I had come out to. But Jerry had turned out straight and had married Rosa only a few days ago. Me and Rosa had also become great friends ever since she rolled into Jerry’s life. They were a great couple. There was no way I felt like he could say no to something that sounded so easy.

But now, as I closed my suitcase, I realized that living in a more quiet area of the city could also be a tad boring and isolating. I decided I would just have to Uber my way into the center whenever I felt like going out. And ordering an Uber was exactly what I was doing now.

Frederick drove me down to Boston Street, passing the harbor. At one point I could no longer see the water as we drove further East, and I was starting to feel a little sad. With every second we drove, it became clear that we were leaving the more busy part of town. Starbucks, Safeway and Target all passed us by and as Fredrick turned left into South Haven Street, the road had become much more narrow, there were less cars around, and the tall apartment buildings were now far behind us. At the end of South Haven Frederick turned right onto Eastern Avenue, and after a while that street brought us into what seemed like a completely different place. Cute, oldtimey buildings with small shops, no big chain stores. This part of the city was known as Greektown, and it was clear from the music shops, delis and restaurants. I sort of liked the atmosphere of this street. Frederick wasn’t there yet though, as we crossed a bridge across the 12 highway. I now saw the typical family homes that reminded me of the suburbs I grew up in. Eastern Avenue had now turned into the MD-150, as well as a main street for the Joseph Lee area, much like Boston Street was for Canton. But it did not have the same vibe. Finally, Frederick turned left onto Hornel Street. This was the street where Jerry and Rosa live, but I was sure it was identical to the streets parallel to it. All houses had the same light colored brick, white patios and white pillars, and a small lawn. All the way near the end of the street, far from the busy MD-150 and near a large park, was Jerry and Rosa’s place. I thanked, paid and tipped Frederick.

I rolled my suitcase up the perfectly kept lawn that was identical to all the other ones next to it. There were a few steps up to a small patio. I tried the key that I got from Jerry and I was inside. I walked into a neat living room. Bubba already meowed at me. There was a note on the table, clearly written by Jerry. I read it while squatting down to pet Bubba.

TOMMY – thanks so much for doing this man!
Help yourself to whatever in the fridge and on Netflix. Feel free to use Rosa’s car, keys are in the bowl.
We recommend Koko Market or the Shoppers supermarket for groceries. Kitchen sink is clogged up, my bad! But Jon (307) will come over to fix that once he is home from work. Back of this note has instructions for Bubba, I am sure he won’t be too much of a pain.
Please message me if you’re missing anything.
Enjoy the peace and quiet!
Jerry & Rosa

Next to the note was a bottle of wine that again had a post-it that said THANK YOU. Right now, Jerry and Rosa were somewhere high above the Atlantic. I felt jealous as I looked around the house a bit more and started unpacking some things. It’s going to be four weeks, might as well make it feel like home as much as I could. The back of the house had a bigger patio and a small garden. Unfortunately, it was not the time of year to sit outside, even though it had remained dry for a whole week. Highs in the low 50s (just over 10 Celsius), did not exactly invite to sit on the patio or in the garden. I was sure I would go running in the nearby park though.

I decided to get settled and check out this Koko Market. I decided against driving as it really wasn’t that far. The 8 minute walk there did me good, carrying the groceries back turned out more tiring than expected. When I had put the groceries away, I was starting to feel at home a bit more. I felt confident that tomorrow I could wake up here and feel motivated to start working. But today, Monday, I had written off as a settling in day. And it had become late in the afternoon anyway.

So I looked around Jerry and Rosa’s bookcase and recognized a book Jerry and I had bought together in college. ‘A How To On Hypnosis: Using the Unconscious Mind to One’s Benefit’. Jerry and I had been fascinated by hypnosis after seeing a TV show about it and bought this book. We had tried to hypnotize each other, but unfortunately it had not worked and after 15 minutes we put the book away never to look at it again. I smiled, as this must have been at least 8 years ago. I was surprised Jerry had kept it all this time. I took the book and sat on the sofa. Bubba joined. I wasn’t sure if Bubba was allowed on the sofa, but I let him as I stroked him, making him purr.

I read in the book for a bit, and wondered if hypnosis was really a thing. Or maybe Jerry and I just weren’t good at either the hypnotizing or at being the subject. I looked out the window next to the sofa, which looked out onto the street, as I remembered how I sat Jerry down in a chair and tried to hypnotize him. I decided that we probably just weren’t doing it right.

At that moment, a car came up and parked at one of the houses across the street. A man came out, who was a vision to behold. Early to mid-forties, light brown hair, broad shoulders, and pecs and arms that were testing the limits of a blue and white striped button down shirt. I estimated him to be about 5’8’’ tall and sure, his hairline was receding a little, but those were not the first things one would notice about this man. After the man had gotten his suit jacket and briefcase from the backseat, he looked up towards the house I was in. He caught my eye and gave me a nod. A smile appeared on the man’s face that gave him gorgeous dimples and showed off a perfectly white set of teeth. I felt frozen in my tracks as I realized this must be neighbor Jon from 307 coming to look at the kitchen sink. I waved at the man but realized he was already walking my way.

A knock on the door followed. My heart was beating in my chest. I was not very good at talking to attractive men and I immediately felt nervous. I took a breath before opening the door. When I did, there he was with his gorgeous smile.
“Hi! I’m Jon Berry”.
“Tom Elmer”.
“So nice to meet you, Tom!”, Jon enthusiastically shook my hand. Jon closed the door behind him and I was in awe of what I saw. Dark grey slacks showed off the curve of an ass that was out of this world. It was one of those asses that would stay in a room for another second after the person it belongs to had already left. I felt my dick growing.
I must have missed Jon saying something as when he turned back around, I had only heard “…for a few weeks, huh?”
Thankfully I could fill in the rest and perkily said “That’s right!”
“Well, if you ever need anything, I’m right across the street. Maybe we can have dinner together some time.”
My heart started beating even faster as I thought this gorgeous muscle man was asking me out.
“I do have to warn you though, I have two teenagers, 15 and 12, and they are quite the handful.”
Of course he is a family man, that makes perfect sense.
“Thanks for the offer”, I said, “I just may take you up on it!”
I could stomach some teenagers if it meant to be in the presence of this hunk.
“So, clogged up sink, tell me more.”
“Oh, right.”

As Jon looked under the cabinet of the kitchen sink, he did not kneel down, but had the audacity to just bend over with his ass towards me. The thin slacks did not hide any underwear lines and to see what clearly were briefs across those big glutes turned me on even more.
“Ah, this should not be too difficult. Do you know where they have a bucket, or maybe a pan to catch the water in?”, Jon asked as he stood upright again.
“I did see some buckets, hold on”, I said and soon I returned with one.
“Great, thank you so much. This will only take a little bit, you just continue doing what you were doing.”
“All right. Be careful with your nice shirt”, I said.
Jon laughed and said “I will, thanks.”

I sat back on the sofa and pretended to read the book I picked out earlier, but really I was keeping a close eye on Jon who I could see if I looked around the table and chairs. He started out crouching down, but later kneeled and bent forward, giving me a great view from the sofa.
After only a few minutes, Jon reached up to turn on the cold water tap.
“Let’s see if this baby is letting some water through now”, Jon said.
I heard the water falling into the bucket.
“All right!”, Jon exclaimed. “Now let me put these pipes back together and I’ll be out of your way”.
“No rush!”, I said as I really wanted him to stay longer.

But before I knew it, he walked towards me and said “So that’s taken care of. I left the bucket on the floor, I’m not sure where you got it”.
“Oh, that’s fine”, I said as I saw him angling his head so he could read the cover of the book I was pretending to read. “Can I get you anything to drink as a thank you?”
“Oh no, that’s alright. Are you reading about hypnosis?”
I laughed nervously and said “Yeah, it was in there”, I gestured toward the bookcase in the living room. “We bought it together in college but after we tried for a few minutes I never thought of it again”.
“You must be surprised he still had it!”, Jon said as he sat down next to me. I felt so tiny even though I was 6’, I felt lanky and less of a man than this muscled monster, even though he was almost half a foot shorter.
“I was hypnotized once”, he said.
“Really?”
“Yeah, it was a comedy hypnosis show”.
“Oh no, what did they make you do?”
Jon laughed. “He made me feel really thirsty so I would ask for water, but then I did not remember where my mouth was.”
I laughed, “Oh no, that’s terrible!”
“And he saw I was married by the ring I wore, made my wife talk to me from the audience, but every time she spoke I would fall asleep”.
I was so taken by his beautiful hazel eyes as he sat so close to me and told me about the hypnosis show. I laughed loudly, but then went to look at his hands. No ring.
“You’re no longer married?”
“She died four years ago, unfortunately. Brain tumor. I stopped wearing the ring about a year ago. The kids hate me for that.”
“I’m so sorry.”
“Thanks. But what I wanted to say was, even though it sounds embarrassing, I actually thought hypnosis felt really good, I felt so relaxed. I would love to be hypnotized again!”
“Do you want me to try?”, I proposed, pretty confident it would not work.
“Sure! My kids are at an age where they really don’t mind me staying away longer.”

“OK”, I said nervously as I looked in the book. “Sit up straight, put your feet flat on the floor, and pick a spot on the wall or ceiling to focus on”, I said and I saw Jon doing so.
“Now slow down your breathing. Take a deep breath in, hold it for a bit, and let it out. Keep doing that.”
Jon’s massive chest rose and fell and it was beautiful to watch, as his eyes remained focused. The book said to now talk more and more slowly. As I was a bit nervous, this was hard to do.
“Now start feeling the relaxation enter your body while keeping your eyes focused. I am going to count down from 5 to 1 and with every count you are going to relax more of your body. Five… feel your shoulders and arms relax and get heavy. Let them be loose and limp, as loose and limp as they can. Four… now feel your stomach and back relax, letting your breathing slow down further. Three… now feel your legs relax. Let them fall into a position that is most comfortable as they also become more loose and limp.”
I saw Jon’s legs opening wider as his knees slowly fell against the sofa cushion. His eyes were starting to flutter already and his neck wanted to let his head drop onto his chest.

“You are trying to keep your eyes open, as much as you want to close them. The more you try to resist, the heavier your eyelids will become. Two… now relax your neck. Let your head flop wherever it wants to go.”
Now his eyes closed and his head dropped onto his chest, which was still rhythmically rising and falling. I was not yet convinced if it had worked or if Jon was just playing along.
“Relax the muscles in your head, relax your jaw. Let your mouth fall open. One. You are now fully relaxed. The more relaxed you feel, the deeper you are falling into a hypnotic sleep. The deeper you go, the better you feel. The better you feel, the deeper you go.”

I was waiting for Jon to lift his head and say it had not worked, but he sat still beside me. I raised his arm, swayed it back and forth, and dropped it. He may really be under. This chapter was called induction, and I quickly flipped through the book to see what I should do next. There was a chapter called ‘Post-Hypnotic Suggestion’ that also had a script, so I just started reading that to Jon.

“As you are sitting here, relaxing, feeling good, you may wish to always feel this good. You enjoy hypnosis. Hypnosis makes you feel good. You will ask to be hypnotized again. And every time I say the words ‘Deep Sleep Now’, you will fall back into this wonderful state of relaxation, only ten times deeper than you were the last time. So every time I, and only I, say the words ‘Deep Sleep Now’, you will fall back into a deep hypnotic sleep, ten times deeper than before. You will be happy to listen to my voice and to obey, because this hypnotic state of relaxation makes you feel so good.”

That was the end of the script. Jon was still sitting there, right next to me on the sofa. Motionless, but breathing. I surely now needed to get him to wake up. I flipped through the book again until I found it.

“And now I will start counting back from 1 to 5. And when I reach 5, you will wake up, feel refreshed, rested, awake and alert. You will not consciously remember what I told you, but every time…”
The script here read [repeat post-hypnotic suggestion(s) if any new ones were given].
“… you hear me and only me say the words ‘Deep Sleep Now’, you will fall back asleep just as you are now, only ten times deeper.  You will not know why, but you will feel the need to obey my voice. Now. 1… Slowly starting to wake up. 2… Becoming more aware of your surroundings…”
Jon started to move a little.
“3… Gaining back control over your body. 4… Opening your eyes. 5… Back in the room, awake and alert.”
Jon sat up and looked at me.
“Oh, hey”, he said. He wiped his eyes as if he had just had a good night’s sleep. “That was nice, thank you.”
“How do you feel?”, I asked.
“I was a bit tense and stressed from work, but I feel so much more relaxed now. Thanks man!”
And it was true, he did seem more relaxed. But of course I had to check something.
“Deep sleep now.”
Jon’s body instantly became cataleptic and fell back into the sofa. His head now rested on the back of it, causing his mouth to fall open wide. A silence in the room was broken by Bubba meowing.

I could not believe it had actually worked. I felt so powerful that I could dictate a person’s actions even in a minor way. But because I had never expected this to work, I didn’t really know what to do with this power. I decided to bring him out of it with the script I had just used, just without repeating the suggestion. I didn’t really know what else to do. When I did, and Jon woke up again, he looked at me and smiled.
“I went really deep, thanks so much”, he said as he wiped his eyes again.
“I am stunned that it worked”, I said.
“Yeah, the hypnotist said I was a good subject, he explained why that was, something about vivid imagination, I remember.”
“Wow”, I said.
“Anyway”, he said as he slowly got up, “I should get going. Amber and Elliott are expecting their servant to make them dinner”. He smiled. “We should do this again though, as long as you’re here. This shit is better than a massage”. He stretched a little as if he just woke up.
“Sure. Thanks for the sink.”
“No problem! If you ever need anything else fixed, let me know! I enjoy doing it”. Again the beautiful dimples from the smile.
He took his briefcase and suit jacket, let himself out and I watched his booty walk away.

I knew I was going to read that hypnosis book cover to cover tonight.
