Cayden, Chapter 2

Cayden
After a few weeks of working with Cayden, I felt like I not only had a great new partner, but also a new friend. In the gym I actually taught him proper posture during squats and I am pretty sure he did not realize it gave me a woody spotting him. Now of course our routines are synced up, meaning we have leg day on Thursdays together and I get to watch him squat once a week. Unfortunately now that it’s early October, temperatures have gone down to 66 degrees (19 Celsius) and there are no more short shorts or tanktops. But I still get to watch him change into a jockstrap five times a week and shower next to him, so I am not complaining. I do worry that I am steadily falling in love with him, because he is too perfect not to.

The only thing I could possibly complain about is that when we do a late shift together, Cayden tends to get a bit sleepy. And when Cayden gets sleepy he snores. So I try to keep him awake by talking to him, but especially towards the end of the shift, it seems there is no stopping his slumber. As quiet as the streets tend to be around that time, one person with a cell phone and we’re a national joke. But I did decide to protect Cayden and haven’t told Sgt. Brooks about it.

Cayden and I had finished our last shift of the week, which is on Saturday. For us, it’s also arm day. Cayden knows that after the gym on Saturday I go to a taquería with Kim where we drink and catch up. In the locker room at the station, where Cayden just started undressing, I see my phone has a text from Kim that says “Did you carpool? Maybe invite C? X”.
Starting this week we were carpooling to and from work every day. Going to the gym together and living in the same small town, it just made sense. I, unlike Kim, forgot that this would pose a problem going to the taquería as it would leave Cayden without transportation.

“Cayden?”, I ask, still looking at my phone.
“Yeah?”
He stopped undressing and walked towards me. I looked up and saw he was only wearing a pair of grey briefs. I forgot everything I wanted to say as he stands next to me and put his arm on shoulder.
“Uhm.” I felt myself sweating and I could not speak.
We looked each other in the eye as he smiled wide. His look shifted to my phone and he read the text.
“Aww that’s so sweet! I’d love to come! Let me text Helena.”
He walked back to his locker and takes out his phone. For what seems like a full minute he was standing there, typing on his phone, in those grey briefs that made him look absolutely delicious.

I realized it was moments like this when I felt like he was flirting with me, while he probably had no intention to do so? Or did he? It was all a bit confusing. But I did not want him to stop doing it at the same time, so I never said anything.

Cayden had changed into a blue tanktop after all, putting on a grey hoodie to cover up for the drive there. He wore black shorts that reached beyond his knees. I had missed seeing him stepping into his jockstrap today, but I did catch that gorgeous hole on display two other times this week, so I did not complain. There would be a second chance after the gym. We got into my car and drove to Gold’s, did lots of dumbbell work, skipped cardio and went to the locker room.

“So what do you guys talk about during these taquería meetings?”, Cayden asked when we were showering, using air quotes for the last two words. “Is it mainly work gossip?”
“Lots of the time, yeah. My love life, if anything happened. TV shows. Her complaining about her husband and kids. Usually it starts out with the news or current events, but after the first beer that’s usually over with.”
I had learned that continuing to talk about stuff and not looking at Cayden was the only way I could get through these showers with him without getting a hard-on.
“Ahh! Do you two tend to get a bit drunk during these?” He seemed a bit too excited that alcohol was involved.
“Well, Kim usually comes by taxi or Uber, so that should tell you enough. I try to limit myself.”
“I am lucky you are driving today!”, he said.
A short silence followed, as I was almost done showering and ready to get back to the locker area.
“Oh fuck!”, I heard to my right. I hadn’t really been looking in his direction during our shower, but this exclamation, instinctively turned my head toward him. His face seemed a bit panicked, but he quickly smiled. He also seemed a bit embarrassed.
“I was cleaning my crack, and… well… It’s been a while?”
I looked down and saw he was sporting a raging hard-on. It pointed up at a 45 degree angle. It was a nice size at about 7 inches, but what was mainly noticeable was how thick it was. Especially the head was fat and juicy. I got about a second to look, before he covered himself with both hands.
“Don’t stare!”, he said, smiling, but pushing me away with his shoulder. I felt like that snapped me out of it.
“Holy fuck!”, was all I could say.
“You are popping a massive chub yourself there, buddy”.
I looked down and saw my big throbbing cock point straight ahead of me. My dick wasn’t as thick as Cayden’s, but with 9 inches, it looked bigger. I tried to cover myself with just my hands but I couldn’t so I went for my towel.
Cayden
“This is humiliating”, he said as he also got his towel and left the shower area.
“I’m sorry”, I thought he meant that me getting an erection because I saw his, was what humiliated him.
“It’s not your fault, man. I’m back to getting spontaneous erections, like I’m in high school, that’s one thing. But then I’m half your size? That’s embarrassing.” He was now toweling off by his locker, not looking at me.
I lowered my voice, so no-one could hear. “Dude, I got a full-on boner from looking at a co-worker. How do you think I feel?”
That made him laugh.
“Honestly, I would be offended if you hadn’t”.
“But seriously, didn’t you just get married? How are you not getting any?” From quick glances I could tell his erection had subsided. I continued covering myself with a towel, as I was still at full mast.
“I don’t know, she used to love it. Maybe it’s because I have a tiny dick?”
“Come on, man! That ain’t no tiny dick and you know it.”
He stopped toweling off and just stood there facing me, naked.
“Yeah, but I sure didn’t know others had massive tools like yours! Holy crap!”
“Maybe Kim can help you with seducing Helena?”
“OK. But not a word on what happened in the showers”.
“I promise”.
Not a word, but many a jerk-off session, I thought. I spotted him sniffing his jockstrap and deciding to go commando under his jeans.

“It’s my sexy gym boys!”, Kim exclaimed when Cayden and I walked into taquería La Costa. She hugged us both. For years this had been the place Kim and I would go on Saturdays to catch up. Some chips and salsa, some booze and lots of chatter. Kim and I trained together to be officers, so we go back quite a while. In the meantime she had gotten herself a family and moved into this really nice place, whereas I took care of my father and was the only one by his bedside when it all ended. Sometimes I envied her. Her husband had always seemed so sweet, but terribly boring. Yet I would so settle for that life.
“Now that there’s three of us, I think we can justify ordering a pitcher of beer!” Kim got way too excited at the prospect of ordering a pitcher, clapping her hands.
“Oh, so this is a classy type of a night”, Cayden teased.
“Hey! Rookie! Don’t make me spit in your salsa!”
Cayden laughed. “I love this woman”.

Lots of topics flew across the table. Our new partnership, the recorded knock-out punch, and then gossiping about fellow employees.
“Gare, Gare! Did you even know? This guy”, Kim pointed at Cayden, “he suggested… oh gosh I’m a mess…”
Kim spilled salsa on her top, Cayden and I laughed.
“What are you on about?”, Cayden asked. He looked at me, but I was equally puzzled. I was starting to feel like Kim had started drinking before she came here. She continued to focus on me and ignored Cayden.
“Cayden suggested to Brooks… this is so good… a speaker on the damaging effects of racial profiling…”
I looked at Cayden with an impressed face.
“And! And! A racial bias training! You should have seen Brooks’ face! That racist fucker!” Kim started laughing.
“D’you get it? A white officer? Suggesting that? To Brooks? His mind was blown!”
I did start giggling a bit, because Bannock County leading the charge on racism in the police force, was quite a humorous idea. But unfortunately I realized that having a white officer suggest this, just might sway Brooks.
“I think I would be rolling on the floor, if it didn’t concern people’s lives?”, Cayden seemed a bit confused on why we laughed.
“Oh my gosh, you are just too perfect”, I blurted out.
Cayden got even more confused.
“It has more to do with Brooks and how he has handled the situation so far, that we think it’s funny the new guy is asking for what he has resisted for such a long time.”
“I just think the officers here would be helped with this speaker I saw online. And they’re doing this training on the East Coast that is apparently paying off”.
“You are adorable”, Kim smiled as she emptied her glass. “Too cute”.
“I can’t believe your wife is not putting out, look at him!” Halfway through my sentence I addressed Kim. I now noticed the effect of the alcohol on myself. I had downed the first glass like water.
Cayden pushed my shoulder. He had a playful look on his face, but pretended to be offended.
“What? You look like that and you’re not getting laid?”, Kim seemed shocked. “I look like this, and I’m getting it every day. And I have two kids!”
“Really? You and Jon are at it every day?”, I asked though I was not sure why.
“Absolutely!”
“Wow! Go Jon!”
“I don’t really know what I’m doing wrong.”
“Great, we have a project. New pitcher, please!”

“So, from the top. How do you approach her?”, Kim asked Cayden.
“Well, usually it’s after dinner and we’re doing the dishes together. Billy is in his room.”
“Good timing and doing dishes together, very good”, Kim nodded.
“I tell her she looks really pretty tonight and that I had to restrain myself during dinner, which is true every night.”
“That’s cute right? I would fall for that”, I said.
“How does she react when you say that?” Kim seemed very focused on her project.
“She thanks me. Sometimes she shortly rubs my back with one hand when we’re done with the dishes. Then she asks me to take out the trash or fix something.”
“Uh huh, uh huh”, Kim was still very focused.
“So I do. Like the other day I fixed Billy’s bike, I get cleaned up. I grab a beer and join her on the couch, hoping for a second chance, you know?”
“Yeah, very good”.
“But the other day she goes, ‘do you have to drink every night?’”
“Let the poor man have some beer, especially if he’s not getting any! Dammit, woman!” Kim exclaimed, taking another big gulp from her glass.
“Yeah, that sounded like she was looking for a fight, man”, I added.
“I honestly don’t know what to do”, Cayden looked down.
“What I usually did, is surprise a boyfriend.”, I suggested. “Get home before they do, have dinner ready, and spoil them. They would usually put out after that.” I smiled.
“I can try that, I guess. On a night where she doesn’t have Billy, maybe.”
“Yeah! And wear nothing but an apron! I love when Jonny does that”, Kim added.
Picturing slightly overweight Jonny in nothing but an apron made me lose interest in the chips and salsa. I also stopped with the beer as I was the only one of us who was driving.

It got quite late as we were kicked out of the taquería. I felt very sober as both Cayden and Kim had really knocked back a number of those pitchers together. As they held each other up, I noticed they were about equally tall. Possibly around 5’9’’.
Kim didn’t live far from the taquería, so I offered to take her home, as well as Cayden. We had only been driving for a minute, and Cayden passed out and started snoring in the passenger’s seat beside me. Kim thought this was the most hilarious thing.
“Awww, look at the little lightweight!”, she teased him. She reached from the backseat to slap his face, and he stirred shortly and woke up. He looked around for a while but then fell back asleep. Which made Kim laugh even harder.

I drove Kim to her house and she gave me a kiss from the back seat. She also gave Cayden a kiss on the cheek.
“Thanks for the ride and the fun night. Try not to rape him. See you Tuesday! Bye babe!”
“Bye, be careful!”
I watched her stumble to the front door and waited till she got in. I turned and was on my way to McCammon with a snoring, but gorgeous man next to me.

As easy as it would have been to start touching Cayden, finally, I managed to contain myself for the ride home. McCammon was dead on a Saturday night, so I carefully braked next to Cayden and Helena’s house, thinking Billy might be asleep at 10:30pm. I had been in front of this house a few times now, picking Cayden up in the morning and dropping him off after our shifts. The house seemed small from the outside and not that well-maintained.
When we stopped I shook Cayden’s leg.
“What?”
“You’re home.”
“Oh. Thanks, man.”
“Can you walk?”
“Uhmm.” He looked at his legs as if he was asking them for advice. “Some help wouldn’t hurt actually.”
I got out of the car and walked around. Cayden had managed to get himself standing, but he was holding on to the car door for dear life.
“Come on”, I said, as I put his arm around my neck and actually quite easily walked him to the front door. I let him go and stand on his own.
“I don’t have a key”, he said as he knocked on the door.
It didn’t take long for Helena to open the door in her pajamas.
“You’ve been drinking again?”, was the first thing she said.
“I have. I’m sorry. This is my partner Gary”.
“Hi”, I said as I extended my hand to shake hers. She looked at me and didn’t move.
“I know who he is. What I didn’t know is that you’d be out this late. I thought you were just having a drink with some fellow officers!”
“I was!”
“Clearly it was more than one drink, wasn’t it?”
Helena raised her voice and took a bit of a threatening stance. A dog or coyote howled, not too far from us.
“It was.” Cayden sounded defeated. Nothing like the confident man I had gotten to know. Well, until the shower-incident earlier today where he first showed insecurity.
“You’re not sleeping in this house when you’re drunk. Billy’s here and he already has one dad who’s an alcoholic. I don’t want him seeing you.”
She closed the door.

Cayden scratched the back of his head. “Wow. I did not see that coming.”
He stood in the same place for a few seconds.
“Dude, I can offer you a place to sleep. It’s the weekend tomorrow, I’ll make you a nice breakfast and you’ll be all good to make it up to her. If you don’t want to sleep in the bed with me, you can sleep on the sofa.”
He turned to look at me, I thought I spotted a tear in his eye. “I don’t want you to think I am an alcoholic. Because I’m not. I’m really not.”
“I know that, man. And she knows that as well. She just has bad experiences with men who drink.” I knew some more of Helena’s history because this town was so small. Her previous husband was abusive and if you ask me, with Cayden she really went into the right direction. But she was still scared and protective of her son.
Cayden stood there with both his hands behind his head, exposing his stomach from the belly button down. Quite far down, actually. His treasure trail widened as it went down to his pubes, though his jeans started before that. From his hips a lovely V-shape was visible.
He looked down for a while and then looked up at me, clearly emotional.
“Come on, man”, I said. “Sleep it off, it won’t be this bad in the morning.”
“’Kay”, he managed to say as he stepped into my car.

He was quiet during the short drive to my house. He was fine walking up to the house by himself. When I let him in, he looked around and said “This is a nice place, man. Is this still all your old man’s?”
“Most of it. I managed to sell some stuff online and I replaced it with my own. But most of it is still his, yeah.”
Cayden took time to look at the paintings that my Dad had made.
“I’m impressed. I understand why you’d want to stay here.”
I dropped my gym bag near my laundry room and went to pour us a night-cap. I brought him a glass of scotch.
“Hey man, drink this. You deserve it after what happened out there. And it’ll make you sleep better.”
Cayden smiled.
“Thanks, man. You’re a good buddy”.
He downed the glass in one and gave it back to me.
“You OK?”, I asked.
He sighed.
“I’m OK. Really tired, though.”

When Cayden saw the sofa, he said “You were going to make me sleep on this? It’s so narrow!”
“It’s that or in bed with me”, I said, convinced he would choose the sofa.
“I sleep in the same bed with a buddy all the time, no problem.”
I lent Cayden my toothbrush as we brushed our teeth together over my sink. It was random couple-like feelings like this that I had not experienced for so long and missed. Cayden seemed to think about other things.

In the bedroom, he said the bed is plenty big for “two big guys like us”. I stripped down to blue boxers and jumped in, the feeling of the covers on top of me making me feel so comfortable I almost immediately closed my eyes and drifted off. Were it not for Cayden undressing on the other side of the bed. As he unbuttoned his fly he stopped and went “Oh, fuck.”
I looked up, his back was turned towards me. But he slowly turned around.
“I forgot I was going commando. Do you mind if I…”
He deliberately did not finish his sentence.
“I really don’t mind”, I said. “Do you?”
He laughed. “I’m sure you can control yourself”, he said as he lowered his jeans. His beautiful cock swung between his thighs and I already felt myself get excited.
Cayden put his jeans with his T-shirt on a chair and took off his socks. He noticed a mirror and looked at himself.
“Can I ask you a weird question?”
“Always”, I said. I felt my eyes slowly closing because I was so tired but I knew I had to keep them open.
“Am I an attractive man?”
I opened my eyes again and he had turned around to face me again, his gorgeous body in front of me.
“Absolutely.”
“Really? Like, I have a nice body?”
“You really do!”
He turned to face the mirror again.
“I don’t see it”, he said.
“That’s because you’re straight, I guess”, I said.
“Nah. When I look at your body, I get jealous. It’s nicer than mine.”
“Aww, thanks, man.” My cock was raging hard, but my eyes were feeling so heavy. I must have drifted off to sleep, because this was the last I remembered.
